One of the biggest suggestions I would make to Baruch College is to use social media in a more interactive way with students. Baruch College is technically active on all popular social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram, but they haven't been using these platforms to their fullest potential. Where Baruch and other schools and professional institutions go wrong is that they only use these social media accounts to be informative to their audience when really they need to be interacting with them. Schools, especially ones like Baruch where club life and student life is so big, Baruch could be using social media to post about their events and giveaways on the accounts, but they could also be speaking to students about what they are looking forward to in the school year or what they want to see more of from the school. These kinds of interactions can make the school feel much more inclusive and welcoming and it can help the school address issues they may not be aware of or just bring more diverse, unique events to the school.
This is a great point; because I go to Baruch College at night and cannot seem to connect with any club at the school. Maybe the college can have skype as part of the interaction with students that work full-time and cannot go to the club meetings during club hours on Thursdays from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM. I had always tried to come to at least one these meetings to be enlightened. Maybe someone from Baruch can see these posts and start to make the necessary changes to move forward in the technological world that helps many that goes to Baruch and give them a great experience in the process.
